NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) – Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani is pulling out of a WABC event after Jimmy Kimmel’s show was indefinitely suspended.

ABC suspended Kimmel’s late-night talk show following comments he made about the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. The Walt Disney Co. pulled the show on Wednesday just before air after a group of ABC-affiliated stations said they wouldn’t air “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”

The town hall was scheduled for Thursday, Mamdani said. Mamdani, a frontrunner in the upcoming New York City mayoral election, said his decision has nothing to do with the local affiliate or its journalists, but rather its ownership.
