Small game, early goose and ATV activities highlight DNR officer workloads

Here is the weekly report from Department of Natural Resources conservation officers in northwest Minnesota and adjacent areas of northern Minnesota for Monday, Sept. 22, 2025.

CO Ben Huener (Roseau) checked field goose hunters and talked to grouse hunters. He gave a law update and held a discussion during the Region 1 DNR Wildlife meeting at Thief Lake headquarters. Two injured hawks were captured for rehabilitation.

CO Tony Hams (Warroad North) spent the week monitoring ATV traffic, checking area small game hunters and attending annual training in Perham,

CO Coby Fontes (Warroad South) spent the week assisting with Law Enforcement Memorial Association Honor Guard training.
