EUGENE, Ore. - Lane County Emergency Management is stepping up efforts to prepare residents for disasters with a new six-week readiness campaign, according to county officials.

The initiative aims to enhance community resilience through weekly tips, events, and a program to help residents signal to first responders during emergencies. According to Lane County Emergency Manager Tiffany Brown, the "6 Weeks of Ready" campaign offers a step-by-step approach to preparedness, with each week focusing on different readiness aspects.

"Each week focuses on a different aspect of readiness, making it easier for individuals and families to build resilience before the next emergency," Brown said.

The campaign will feature themes such as stocking up, family communication plans, and tsunami readiness.
