Boston Police report that officers who initially pulled over a Stoughton man for zooming through red lights early this morning also arrested him for the gun loaded with seven bullets they found in his car.

According to police, officer first spotted Joseph Johnson, 46, swerve around a car stopped for a red light at Washington and Oak streets and then keep going, around 1:25 a.m.:

The suspect vehicle continued through multiple red lights, prompting officers to activate their cruiser’s emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop.

Upon stopping the vehicle, officers approached and requested the driver’s license and registration. While speaking with the driver, later identified as Johnson, officers detected the odor of alcohol and burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle.
