YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WOIO) - A student was shot in the knee while walking down a ramp after a Chardon High School football game Saturday evening.

According to a police report from Youngstown State University (YSU) police, the gunshot was heard by officers around 9:20 p.m. outside Stambaugh Stadium at YSU.

Chardon High School was playing Cardinal Mooney High School at Stambaugh Saturday night.

Police found the victim near the west side of the stadium and learned he was a Cardinal Mooney student spectator.

The victim was shot in the leg. He told police he did not see or know the shooter.

No Chardon students were injured in the shooting, according to a release from Chardon High School Superintendent Michael Hanlon.
