The flags were draped over a tram bridge next to Nottingham Station

More than a dozen flags from all over the world were hung up in Nottingham city centre in response to the national "Operation Raise The Colours" campaign. The national banners were draped over a tram bridge over Station Street, next to the train station, on Saturday morning (September 20).

The flags included a Union Jack, which was flanked by those of Jamaica, Pakistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Kenya and Iran, among others. A group of women behind the gesture said they had been placed in response to elements of the "Operation Raise the Colours" movement , which has seen thousands of Union Jack and St George's Cross flags being stuck up across the UK.
