University of Nottingham staff have begun four weeks of strikes after bosses of the cash-strapped institution failed to rule out compulsory redundancies . Members of the University and College Union have launched "large-scale" industrial action in response to a drastic restructuring that is cutting hundreds of roles from the Russell Group university's professional services and administration workforce.
