Firefighters were called to a blaze at a substation in Southchurch Drive, Clifton, which has caused a power cut
Hundreds of homes have been left without power in a Nottingham suburb after a fire at a substation. National Grid is reporting outages at 673 properties across Clifton on Monday evening (September 22).
Two fire crews were deployed to a fire at a substation in Southchurch Drive, which was reported at around 7.20pm. One crew remains at the scene, where they have been joined by National Grid workers, according to a fire service spokesperson.
National Grid apologised for the outage and said engineers are working to restore the power, estimating on its website this could be completed by 9pm. "We are aware of this power cut outage which was raised at 7.34pm this evening
