TOWN OF NEWBURGH – A 52-year-old Newburgh man is in the Orange County Jail without bail on charged in connection with stabbing a 40-year-old man in the neck with a knife while at the Super 8 Motel on Route 300 in the Town of Newburgh.

The attack sent the victim to Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital where he received medical at tension and is in stable condition, police said.

Following investigation, police arrested Shayne Griffin on charges of assault, criminal possession of a weapon and menacing.

Town of Newburgh Police were assisted by City of Newburgh Police and State Police.

Authorities did not say what prompted the attack.
