A 47-year-old Thunder Bay man faces multiple charges after being found unresponsive behind the wheel of a dump truck early Sunday morning.

On Sept. 21, 2025, officers with patrol services charged Dwight Paquette with impaired operation and dangerous driving.

At approximately 5:50 a.m., 911 communicators received a report of a driver asleep at the wheel near Lake Street and Wellington Street East. Upon arrival, police found Paquette being assessed by emergency medical services and discovered drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.

He was transported to hospital, and once medically stable, was arrested. A blood sample was obtained for analysis.

Paquette is charged with impaired and dangerous operation.

He was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 24
