India vice-captain Rishabh Pant is likely to miss the Test series against West Indies, which starts on October 2. Pant, who is still recovering from the nasty foot fracture he copped in the tour of England, is unlikely to make recovery in time for the series, reported ESPNcricinfo on Monday, September 22.

The red-ball vice-captain was in sensational touch in the tour of England before fracturing his foot in the Manchester Test match . Despite retiring hurt after fracturing his foot, the brave heart stepped out to bat with India in grave danger in the first innings of the Test match. However, the 54-run innings was the last India saw of Pant in the 5-match series.

There were reports earlier that suggested that Pant was out of his cast and walking comfortably in the build-up to the serie
