CHARLESTON (WV News) — Members of the West Virginia National Guard are expected to wrap up their time providing assistance in the nation’s capital before Nov. 30.

Between 300 and 400 members of the WVNG have been in Washington since the end of August as part of the “D.C. Safe and Beautiful” mission ordered by President Donald Trump.

“Currently, we are expecting all members of the West Virginia National Guard deployed for Operation DC Safe & Beautiful to be released from active duty prior to November 30, 2025,” the WVNG said in a statement provided to WV News via the office of Gov. Patrick Morrisey.
