CHARLESTON (WV News) — Funeral services for former state lawmaker Walt Helmick will be held at 1 p.m. Oct. 4 at First Presbyterian Church in Charleston.

Helmick served on the Pocahontas County School Board and the Pocahontas County Commission before serving in the West Virginia Legislature for more than 20 years. He was later elected West Virginia Agriculture Commissioner in 2012 and served in that position from 2013 to 2017.
