ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A Rochester child who was reported missing earlier this month was found near Chicago with two men who are in the country illegally, officials with the U.S. Department of Justice announced Monday.

Rochester police requested help from marshals in the Western District of New York on September 16 after investigators learned the girl had left her home on September 11.

Surveillance video showed three people meeting the child near her home and leaving with her in a light-colored SUV, officials said.

Working with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, marshals in Rochester obtained information that the child had traveled to the Chicago area and informed marshals in the Northern District of Illinois.
