HOMER, La. – More than a year after his arrest, the case against a former Claiborne Parish educator accused of misconduct with an elementary student has yet to move forward in court.

According to the Claiborne Parish District Attorney’s Office, the case is “still in screening review.”

Homer police said that information regarding Gryder’s case, including school video footage, was promptly forwarded to the district attorney's office shortly after the arrest.

Dale Douglas Gryder of Minden, was arrested in September 2024 after Homer Police obtained multiple warrants related to an incident police said happened inside Homer Elementary School on Aug. 14, 2024. Authorities reported that the school’s surveillance cameras captured video of the alleged encounter.
