MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Mobile Police Department officers arrested a man after he fled from a traffic stop.

According to an MPD news release, officers stopped a vehicle in the 1000 block of Baltimore Street around 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 19.

Officials said the driver, now identified as 38-year-old Lewis Mitchell, pulled over before giving a fake name to officers and driving away.

Mitchell led police on a short chase before arriving at a family member's house, according to officers.

Mitchell was arrested and charged with attempting to elude, obstructing justice using a false identity, and use/possession of drug paraphernalia.
