A man faces several charges, after two police officers were among the people assaulted by an intoxicated man, Chatham-Kent police say.
An intoxicated man was being aggressive and threatening at a Chatham residence on Sunday shortly after 11:30 p.m., police said. Video surveillance showed the man throwing a weapon during an altercation.
When officers arrived, the man resisted arrest, resulting in an officer being assaulted, police said.
Medical attention was not needed, police added.
A 53-year-old Chatham man is charged with assaulting a peace officer, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, police said.
While in custody, the accused man became aggressive, resulting in another charge of assaulting a peace officer.
He was held for bail, police said.
