MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Mobile Police Department officers arrested a man and woman on Saturday after they allegedly stole items from Walmart and were using a vehicle that was reported stolen.

An MPD news release said officers were called to the Walmart on the I-65 Service Road around 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, for a report of a theft.

When the officers arrived, they found that a woman had hidden merchandise in her purse, with the man leaving the store with the items shortly thereafter.

The suspects, now identified as 23-year-old McKenzie Wilson and 31-year-old Jercody Nelson, were also found with the stolen vehicle.

Both were charged with organized retail theft, theft of property, receiving stolen property, obstructing justice, and attempt to elude.
