FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Fort Wayne Mayor Sharon Tucker’s office shared on Monday that mediation efforts on a new collective bargaining agreement for the Fort Wayne Fire Department have ended with no resolution.

According to Tucker’s office, the Fort Wayne Metro Firefighters IAFF Local 124 chose former City Councilman Jason Arp (R) to serve as the mediator in the negotiations.

Mediation ended on Monday after the two parties could not reach an agreement on several disputed points, the mayor’s office says.

City spokesperson John Perlich says the city did not want to end mediation, but could not continue as he claims the union was “unwilling to move off their position”.
