ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Authorities are investigating three separate fires at the Fairgrounds Housing Development that all happened within a day of each other.
At 11:20 a.m. on Sunday, firefighters were called to the Fairgrounds complex for a fire in the 800 block of Tanner Street.
Around 8 p.m., firefighters returned to a massive blaze in the 900 block of Acorn Street, finding fire coming from the roof of three out of four residential apartments.
Authorities said the building was boarded up and uninhabited, but the fire caused approximately $100,000 in damage.
Then, at 11:57 a.m. on Monday, firefighters were called back to the housing development for a fire in a building in the 300 block of Leather Court.
Fire damage could be seen on the exterior of the structure.
