MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — The Mobile Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a gospel music festival this weekend, according to a City of Mobile news release.

The free event, which is sponsored by Aetna, Oak Street Health and the Parks and Recreation Department, will be on Friday, Sept. 26, at Dotch Community Center, 3100 Bank Avenue, beginning at noon.

The event began in 2023 for members of the Tricksey Senior Center, and has grown into a "celebration of faith, music and community for all Mobilians," the release said.

“Gospel Fest has become one of our most anticipated events for the Tricksey Senior Center,” MPRD Recreation Superintendent Shad Collins Jr. said. “Now in its third year, this event will showcase the incredible gifts of our seniors, staff, and guest performers.”
