RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - A man has been arrested after the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office says a baby tested positive for multiple controlled substances.

In the early morning hours of Saturday, deputies with the WCSO responded to Renown for a 9-month-old who had tested positive for the drugs. Which drugs were detected was not released by the WCSO.

The child is said to be stable and recovering in the pediatric ICU.

“No child should ever face such dangers. We are grateful to the medical team and our deputies for acting quickly to protect this infant,” said WCSO Darin Balaam.

The case remains under investigation, and the identity of the suspect has not been released.
