Local leaders and service providers sounded the alarm Monday during a roundtable discussion in Downtown Pittsburgh about how federal budget cuts have been — and could continue to be — devastating for the region.

Representatives from several groups that provide essential services across Pennsylvania met with U.S. Rep. Summer Lee, D-Swissvale, and Allegheny County Executive Sara Innamorato at the Allegheny Courthouse to discuss how their organizations are navigating a whirlwind of changes brought on by the federal budget and policy changes.

“It’s touching every part of our communities in some way,” Ms. Lee said. “Even if it has or has not actually come to the table, it has deep impacts as it trickles down through our states, through our counties and down to our municipalities.”
