NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — First responders were called to Our Lady of Fatima Hospital for a reported chemical spill Monday afternoon.
CharterCARE spokesperson Otis Brown told 12 News the spill involved a dental surgery antiseptic.
Brown said no patients or employees were affected. No one was evacuated, though five patients were moved to a nearby unit during cleanup.
The spill was "quickly contained" and the area is currently being ventilated, according to Brown.
Brown added that the hospital is "working closely with" North Providence fire and hazmat crews, as well as the Rhode Island Department of Health.
