As the morning light brightens, we see through the rising mist the flags on the tents of our enemies. We look through our binoculars of understanding and see our enemies are having cereal for breakfast, so we will have eggs because we will not be like them. We cannot be like them.

If they believe it, we do not. If we believe it, they do not. Facts are irrelevant. Hate is the motivating factor.

Separate camps of like-minded people find their comfort gathered around the blazing fire of resentment and blame of “them.” That’s the world I fear I wake up to every day. And I am tired.

One side says Israel is committing genocide. The other side says genocide is the policy of Hamas and Israel is in self-defence mode. A middle ground on the Middle East does not exist.
