The city is not alright.
A year out from the next municipal election and a new poll of Toronto residents shows that there is deep dissatisfaction with how the city is functioning. From traffic to transit, the cost of living to housing affordability, Toronto residents want better.
And while there is some optimism, it’s fading.
In fact, according to polling, more than half of young adults in this city are thinking of leaving.
Last week, Jordan Bitove, the owner and publisher of the spoke at the Empire Club in Toronto to give his report card on the city. It’s the second year in a row that he has done this but instead of relying on the thoughts and feelings of his writers and editors, he hired Ipsos — one of Canada’s top polling firms — to take the pulse of the city .
