The redevelopment of the city-owned and operated Golden Manor seniors home is tracking nearly $5 million dollars over budget following the latest update provided at city hall last week.

Simon Branch of BTY Construction Consultancy was on hand for a scheduled update to city council.

“The project is tracking over budget, at 62 percent completion,” he said.

“We are currently projecting a $4.8 million dollar overrun.”

The Golden Manor redevelopment project was originally approved at $110 million dollars, with new cost approaching $119 million. This follows an update in March, where Branch also noted the project was trending over budget.
