The door is now open for small and medium-sized businesses in northern Ontario to get help navigating the U.S.-Canada tariff dispute, the minister responsible announced Friday.
Patty Hajdu, minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Northern Ontario, announced Friday that business owners impacted by tariffs can now pick up the phone and call the agency to apply to the “regional tariff response initiative.”
Earlier this month, the federal government doubled the size of the fund from $450 million to $1 billion over three years.
The program is delivered through Canada’s regional development agencies, and aims to help businesses affected by tariffs to stay competitive.
“I was just at Thunder Bay Hydraulics to make the announcement,” Hajdu told The Daily Press on F
