EUGENE, Ore. - The Independent Police Auditor's Office in Eugene said they have concluded its review of the Eugene Police Department's actions during a July 1 protest related to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The department adhered to legal statutes and did not engage in prohibited activities during the protest event that took place near the federal building, according to IPA officials. The review was initiated after numerous community complaints about police actions during the Immigration and Customs Enforcement-related protest. The IPA examined videos, incident reports, and other documents to assess the situation, audit officials said.
