GRAND FORKS – The public is invited to an event, “God’s Work, Our Hands: Combating Food Insecurity Together,” set for 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, in Town Square.

All are welcome; no registration is required.

The event includes a free community meal, food-packing stations, kids activities, live music, a message by Everett Jones of Northlands Rescue Mission, info on advocacy opportunities and Holy Communion.

Area churches, which are members of the Eastern North Dakota Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, have gotten together to host this event. They include United, Calvary, Sharon, University, St. Mark’s and Evanger Lutheran churches; Central Valley Parish of Buxton/Reynolds; and Northwood/Washington Lutheran Parish.
