NORMAL ( 25News Now ) - Heartland Community College criminal justice students will host an event on Oct. 2 examining an old murder case, wrongful convictions, and DNA evidence.

The event will feature host speakers and panelists who will discuss the Jaime Snow case from the 90s and the use of DNA in both convictions and exonerations.

Snow was convicted of the 1991 murder of William Little, who was working as a gas station attendant in Bloomington, Illinois. Advocates, like attorney and bestselling author John Grisham, have expressed criticism over prosecutors’ conduct and witness testimony in Snow’s initial trial, as well as the refusal of the court to allow DNA evidence in appeals.
