ORANGE BEACH, Ala. (WKRG) — Traffic congestion is one of the top complaints from locals and tourists in Orange Beach and Gulf Shores.

Several road projects and even a new bridge are being built to address getting around the island, but for the Alabama Department of Transportation, that also means changing traffic patterns.

"I think this is more informational from ALDOT trying to explain their intention of making some of these rerouting changes are and they will react to what people are saying now, will it change the plan, I don't know," said city of Gulf Shores spokesman Grant Brown.
