SALEM, Ore. — A Salem man was sentenced to 25 years in prison on Monday after he was convicted of sexually abusing three children, according to the Marion County District Attorney's office.
Armando Marquez-Zacarias, 45, was first charged back in 2023. His victims ranged from nine to 13 years old, with incidents of abuse that happened separately, prosecutors said.
Two of the victims came forward at the same time, followed by the third about a year later.
Marquez-Zacarias' trial began on Sept. 17. After three days of trial, the DA's office said that the 12-person jury deliberated for a short amount of time before returning guilty verdicts on one count of first-degree sodomy and three counts first-degree sexual abuse.
