A court has ordered that a London commercial property seized by police as part of a raid on an unlicensed pot shop be returned to the landlord.
The Ontario Provincial Police-led joint cannabis enforcement team searched Natural Unity at 91 Wellington St., north of Grand Avenue, on July 23, seizing $47,000 worth of cannabis products, $1,500 cash and charging a 22-year-old London man, police said at the time.
The store, which was operating without a licence from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, the province’s pot regulator, was shut down and the property held under the Cannabis Control Act.
Under the law, anyone with “an interest in the premises” must apply to the Superior Court of Justice to be given access to it.
