CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — A fire damaged a home on Romaron Street Monday, the Chesapeake Fire Department said.

Firefighters responded to a report of a fire in the 2800 block of Romaron Street, and when Chesapeake Engine 9 arrived, they reported smoke showing from the front door of a two-story home. Crews were able to quickly put out the fire, and in less than 20 minutes, had declared the fire under control.

No one was injured, and one adult inside the home was able to get out before firefighters arrived and has been displaced, according to the Chesapeake Fire Department. That person is handling their lodging arrangements.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
