SANTA FE, N.M. —

A car thief, whose reckless driving near the plaza and subsequent standoff with police resulted in the cancellation of last year's Fiesta parade, has pleaded guilty to multiple charges as part of a plea deal.

Santa Fe police and at least one Santa Fe County Sheriff’s deputy shot at Justin Jimenez, 21, after he allegedly stole a 2015 white Jeep Grand Cherokee and recklessly drove it through downtown Santa Fe.

Justin Jimenez was wounded when Santa Fe Police and at least Santa Fe County Sheriff's deputies fired their guns after Jimenez drove the Jeep at them. He was arrested and charged with aggravated battery of an officer with a deadly weapon, aggravated fleeing of an officer and possession of a stolen vehicle.

Jimenez will be sentenced at a later date.
