QUAD CITIES, Iowa/Ill. (KWQC) -- YOUR FIRST ALERT FORECAST FROM CHIEF METEOROLOGIST ERIK MAITLAND:

Into Monday night we’ll be watching showers and storms, some strong, develop to our north. These will eventually be dropping into areas along and north of I-80 by Tuesday morning. Along the way the slow-moving storms could be dropping some heavy rain, and we’ll also be watching for some potential hail and strong wind. We ARE in a Level 1 out of 5 risk for severe storms. But, the storms should weaken somewhat as the evening comes to an end.

Tuesday we’ll be looking for more storms to develop, especially in the afternoon. The focus here will be mainly along and south of I-80 with more widespread development expected.
