The city of Toledo is expected to permanently close the Bay View Retirees Golf Course in North Toledo at the end of the season, a city spokesman confirmed.

Rachel Hart, the city’s communications director, told The Blade Monday that the city first began discussing the possibility of closing the club back in 2020, when plans were being developed for the Bay View Water Reclamation Plant improvements program.

The plant treats all of the city’s and some of the surrounding suburbs’ residential, commercial, and industrial wastewater before it returns to Lake Erie.
