BARNESVILLE, Ga. — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is working a homicide that happened over the weekend in Lamar County.

According to a GBI release issued Sunday, the incident occurred late Saturday night, just before midnight, on Southland Drive.

The GBI said a 911 caller "reported shots fired" in the area and officers arrived to find 41-year-old Deondrey Florence of Barnesville dead on the scene.

The GBI did not have any suspect information available, or precise details on what exactly occurred in the shooting.
