FREMONT, N.Y. (WETM) — The New York State Police (NYSP) are investigating a body that was found on Monday in Steuben County.

Troopers from NYSP in Hornell and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation were called to the report of a body in the Hornell Reservoir on Reservoir Road in the town of Fremont on Monday, Sept. 22, as stated in a release from NYSP.

The body was declared to be a 79-year-old man, who was found by two fishermen, the release said. Troopers explained that they found no signs of foul play.

Members from the Fremont Fire Department and the Hammondsport Fire Department also helped NYSP on the scene, the release said.
