With fall’s arrival and winter just around the corner, Peoples Natural Gas is sharing tips for people to keep costs down and heat their homes more efficiently through the colder months of the year.
According to a release by the company, maintenance can identify problems before they become hazards or require costlier repairs. The company said regular inspections ensure appliances operate more efficiently, leading to lower bills.
Peoples Gas suggested regularly replacing furnace filters and inspecting smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. The company also recommended keeping flammable products away from gas or heat-producing appliances as well as keeping the furnace and vents clear from obstruction.
