Shillong, Sept 22: Meghalaya Minister Sanbor Shullai has expressed deep sorrow over the untimely demise of Assam’s legendary singer Zubeen Garg, describing him as an artist whose immense talent and passion left an indelible mark on the country’s cultural heritage.

In a condolence message addressed to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Shullai said that through his music, Zubeen Garg built bridges across states and brought the spirit of the Northeast to national and global audiences. He added that Meghalaya joins Assam and the entire region in mourning this irreparable loss.

“His music has inspired many musicians and artists from the State of Meghalaya, who all mourn his loss,” Shullai said on behalf of the Government and people of Meghalaya.
