CINCINNATI (WXIX) - A murder suspect pleaded guilty Monday to shooting the father of six children twice in the head, but the murder charge was dropped.
Hamilton County Common Pleas Court Judge Christopher McDowell sentenced Anthony Douglas to 14 to 19 1/2 years in prison.
Douglas, 38, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and having weapons under disability.
In exchange for the plea deal, his original charges of aggravated murder, murder and felonious assault were dismissed.
Cincinnati police say he gunned down Keith James on Glenridge Place in Avondale on Oct. 1, 2024.
James, 53, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The second gunshot to his head was at point-blank range, according to prosecutors.
