CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - A 35-year-old man was critically injured in a shooting late Monday evening.

The victim was shot around 10:30 p.m. in the 2400 block of Cedar Ave.

This is in the housing project Cedar Estates and Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA) police are investigating the crime.

Cleveland EMS said the victim was in such critical condition, that whole blood was given in the ambulance to the hospital.

Earlier this summer 19 News reported that MetroHealth is teaming up with Cleveland EMS to help save more lives by training paramedics to give whole blood transfusions at trauma scenes using low titer O positive blood.
