Sept. 22 marks the first day of fall and the end of a slightly warmer than normal summer for Erie.

According to the National Weather Service office in Cleveland which handles the Erie forecast, this summer was just a tad bit warmer than the two previous summers.

The weather service recorded the average temperature for the summer of 2025 at around 71.4 degrees. To get this average temperature, National Weather Service takes the temperatures from the months of June, July and August and compares the temperature ranges to find an average.

For Erie summers, the average high temperature usually ranges from the high 70s to low 80s.

For previous summers with the same averaging method, NWS says that this summer was six tenths of a degree warmer for Erie, which has an average summer temperature
