Armed police and emergency services at Sadlers Wells Court in East Kilbride

A man has been charged with attempted murder after police swooped on high-rise flats in East Kilbride .

Emergency services were called to Sadlers Wells Court in Calderwood after the alarm was raised at around 8.05am on Monday, September 22.

Ambulance crews attended and a 35-year-old woman was taken to Hairmyres Hospital. Her condition currently remains unknown.

A 45-year-old man was arrested, and officers have now confirmed that he has been charged with attempted murder. The man is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Tuesday, September 23.
