QUINCY (WGEM) - The Illinois Department of Transportation announced there will be an improvement project in Quincy on Broadway Street from 12th to 38th streets. IDOT stated the project would cost $15 million.
The main improvements would include resurfacing, traffic signal upgrades, sidewalk and ADA improvements, according to IDOT.
Work is scheduled to begin in the next few weeks on the sidewalks and curbs with other improvements slated to start fall.
“By including sidewalks and resurfacing Broadway Street, we are working to improve this vital corridor for all modes of transportation,” said Teresa Price, engineer for IDOT Region 4. “As we work on these improvements over the next year, please slow down in work zones, stay off of mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.”
