13-year-old thriving after battle with cancer

BLOOMSBURG — Today, Sophia Erlston, 13, is back to enjoying painting, sewing, playing with her two younger siblings and singing in her school chorus. You could almost forget she battled cancer for the past two years.

“It almost feels like it was just a bad dream,” Kelsey Erlston, Sophia’s mother, said. “But the reality is that it was not, and I just have to keep reminding myself to watch for symptoms because it was not a dream. It was real.”
