ANN ARBOR — Sherrone Moore is treating the season like a game. The first quarter is over. Michigan gets a break before the second quarter begins.

The Wolverines are off this weekend, not returning to action until an Oct. 4 visit from Wisconsin. Moore, who returned from suspension on Sunday, a day after Michigan won at Nebraska to improve to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in the Big Ten, has a plan for the bye week — or, as he calls it, “opportunity week.”

“An opportunity to get better,” he said on Monday. “Reevaluate, look at every position, make sure the best players are playing on the field. Give guys opportunities to play, but they’ve got to go earn it.”
