Learn how to throw an axe or tie a fly at the 42nd annual Sportsmen’s Days event this weekend at Carpenter’s Brook Fish Hatchery in Elbridge, September 27-28, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Carpenter’s Brook Fish Hatchery is located at 1672 Route 321 in Elbridge.

Admission to the event, and all activities, are free, but parking is $5 per vehicle. Veterans, active military, and their families will be admitted for free.

The event is hosted by the Onondaga County Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs , which represents nearly 35 area sporting clubs, in celebration of National Hunting and Fishing Day.

Expert sportsmen and sportswomen from around CNY will be on hand demonstrating a variety of outdoor activities. Participants will be able to try their hand at fly tying, fishing, canoeing, orienteering,
